Jane Austen

Jane Austen (1775–1817) was an English novelist born in Steventon, Hampshire. Her six completed novels include Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility and Emma. With wit and close observation, she explored marriage, money, social expectations and personal judgment. She revised and wrote her mature novels while living at Chawton.
