Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936) was a British novelist, poet and short-story writer born in Bombay, now Mumbai. He worked as a journalist in India before becoming known for stories such as The Jungle Book, Kim and Just So Stories. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907.
