To qualify:
- Attend at least 16 of the 20 sessions, including the final session
- Submit the assigned work
- Request the refund within 14 days of the final session
If your child meets these and that does not happen, we refund your full tuition.
If a scholarship reimbursed you
This applies to both guarantees. If Step Up For Students reimbursed part of your tuition, their rules require that amount to go back to your student's scholarship account rather than to you.
Anything you paid yourself, including the $100 deposit, comes back to you.

Does my child need any coding experience?
No. We start from the fundamentals and build up from there. Curious beginners do very well in this room.
Can I see the space and meet you before I pay anything?
Yes. There is a free open house on Saturday, August 15 in Windermere, and you can drop in any time 10:00am - 12:00pm ET. RSVP so we know to expect you. If you would rather talk one-on-one first, book a 15-minute parent call instead.
Who is the cohort for?
Middle and high schoolers. We place students by grade so each group has the right pace and projects.
What will my child actually build?
Real programs from day one. By week ten they design, build, and publish a capstone app to unQbd, a live platform that real people use.
Isn't coding obsolete now that AI writes code?
The opposite. The tools changed, and understanding them matters more. Your child learns to command AI coding tools, not just lean on them, and to tell good output from garbage. That judgment is the skill that lasts.
When does it meet?
In person in Windermere, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The daytime option is 10am to 12pm; the evening option is 6pm to 8pm. Ten weeks, from September 15 to November 19, ending with Demo Night.
Where exactly is it?
625 Main Street, Suite 27B, Windermere, FL 34786. We are on the second floor, head upstairs. Windermere is convenient to Winter Garden, Horizon West, Hamlin, Dr. Phillips, Ocoee, Clermont, and Minneola. If the drive turns out not to work for your family, the money-back guarantee through session 3 still applies.
Do you have a homeschool or daytime option?
Yes. A daytime option is available on the same days, 10am to 12pm, and is built for homeschool families. Select it as your preference when reserving.
What does my child need to bring?
A laptop they can bring to each session. We send the minimum specs at enrollment and have one loaner if you need it. We set up all the software with your family the week before, so session one is spent building, not installing.
Is there a textbook?
Yes, a printed one, and it is included. We wrote it for this class: twenty chapters, one per session, so a student who misses a week can catch up from the book instead of falling behind. There are two editions, one for middle school and one for high school, and your child gets the one written for their group. Your child keeps their copy.
What if we miss a session?
Life happens, especially in soccer season. Every session has a written recap and materials, so your child catches up at home with no lost ground.
Is my child safe and supervised?
Drop your child off or stay for the session, whichever suits you. You are welcome to sit in on any session, every session. At enrollment we collect your emergency contacts and the adults allowed to pick your child up, and we release students only to someone on that list. High schoolers can sign themselves out if you tell us that is fine. All communication outside the classroom runs through you, never directly with your child.
What name goes on my child's published project?
The one you choose. By default we publish a capstone under a first name and last initial. You can ask for first name only, a display name your child picks, or no name at all. We never attach a photo of your child, their school, their age, or any location more specific than West Orlando. If you want the project renamed or taken down later, email us and it is done, no reason needed.
Who owns what my child builds?
Your child does. We only ask permission to host the capstone and to show it as an example of student work, and you can withdraw that at any time.
How much is it, and how does payment work?
The founding rate is $1,995 for the full ten weeks, which works out to just under $50 per in-person hour. A $100 refundable deposit saves a seat and is applied to your tuition. Paying privately, you can settle the balance two weeks before the first session or split it into two payments of $947.50, the first two weeks before session one and the second at the halfway point. Can I use a Step Up For Students scholarship?
Yes. unQbd is an approved Step Up For Students service provider and this cohort is an approved service offering, eligible under PEP, FES-UA, FES-EO and FTC.
One thing to know up front: Step Up pays a provider only after instruction has been delivered, so scholarship funds cannot cover the deposit or an up-front tuition payment. You pay us, then file for reimbursement. Reimbursement requests can be submitted up to four months ahead of the sessions being taught, which covers this cohort end to end.
We send you an itemized invoice with the provider details Step Up asks for. Confirm with Step Up that your student's account covers this before you pay. Only Step Up For Students can confirm what an account covers.
What if it turns out not to be the right fit?
Tell us before session four begins. We issue a full refund. If Step Up For Students reimbursed you, their rules require the refunded amount to go back to your student's scholarship account rather than to you.
